As a Marketing company, it is easy to adopt tech like AI to do all kinds of things for us. And let me tell you, we use AI and we are very open about that fact. The difference is we use it as a tool. We don’t rely on it to produce stuff.

AI won’t take your job, it’s somebody using AI that will take your job.” Economist Richard Baldwin

AI is like having a super-smart robot sidekick. It can do all sorts of cool stuff like writing essays, creating art and even helping with medical research. Imagine having a personal assistant who’s always available and knows everything!

The Not-So-Good Stuff

Like any new technology, there are some downsides. One big one is that AI can sometimes get a bit confused, especially when it comes to language. For example, it might mix up American English and British English, or it might write something that sounds a bit robotic and cold.

Sentiment and emotion are still exclusive human traits and are often missing when a piece is AI-derived. Even the lack of typos is something that makes AI cold  .                                                                                                                                        Don’t get me wrong, we always strive to get grammar and spelling correct, but it does happen that sometimes, these mistakes slip through the cracks. After all, we are just human.

AI can also make things up. Remember the recommendation to use glue to stick the cheese on your pizza? It’s like when you’re telling a story and get a bit carried away and it becomes a furphy.   AI can do the same thing, but if you haven’t written – and more importantly – researched the piece, how would you know?

So, What’s the Verdict?

Overall, we think AI is a pretty cool tool, but we need to be careful about how we use it. It’s important to remember that AI is not perfect and it’s not a replacement for human creativity and intelligence.

We should use AI to help, not to replace. We should use it to make our lives easier and more efficient, but we should also be critical of its limitations.

So, there you have it. AI is a double-edged sword. It can be a powerful tool for good, but it can also be a source of misinformation and confusion. If you would like to chat to us about how to use AI effectively and to complement rather than control what you do in your marketing, we would love to hear from you.
